Review Policy

Welcome to my blog! On this website I do reviews of books, movies, theater, and television in my free time. Each review is written solely by me without the use of artificial intelligence, I read/watch everything I write about, and I do not consult other resources before writing my reviews to avoid biases. This is a practice I began when working as a professional film critic; I don’t want others’ judgement bleeding into my opinions before I sort through my own thoughts.

Across the board: if I really do not like something, I will not review it, even if it is an advance copy/screening. The Internet is full of an incredible amount of hate nowadays, and while I do believe in constructive criticism, I don’t want to engage in a cycle where other people’s opinions are solely shaped by mine. That’s not fair to the creator of the work, as taste is so incredibly subjective. I might not like romance, but someone else might only want to read it. Neither of us are wrong in the end with our opinions, so let’s be kind.

I am open to advance screenings/copies unless I am inundated with them. I try my best to schedule them on the day of release, but sometimes life happens. I will get the review out there eventually.
